  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Not very Volvo like to have bits of plastic which disclour though.

However at least they are removable. All I need to do now is fond the paint code and try to track some paint down while most places are now closed.....

You'd be surprised Shaun, Volvo cut a lot of corners on things like trim - sometimes shockingly so!

Paint code should be on your VIN plate under the bonnet, usually a 3-digit but later cars had 5-digit codes, either way the first 3 digits are the paint colour code, the last two on later cars are the manufacturer and something else, can't remember what at the moment.

Then order some of that to your code and get the free lacquer. You could try Hellfrauds instead butprobably not that much difference in price plus it's delivered to you.

30 year old red doesn't bear any relationship to the paint code!!!

If it was originally a pillar box red or similar, like most other reds of a similar shade it's a fugitive colour.

Best way that i know of is to use a machine polisher and Meguiars 3-stage paint system.

You can do it by hand but it's hard work!

Same as yours by any chance Mark? I know mine is 403 - Silver-Green Metallic and the DVLA list it as "Green". Not that anybody believes me until i explain and that's long and boring.........................

Mines 418 Regent Red metallic. I think they sometimes get confused as I believe they are quite similar
