Default Things that "go" at 100k...

I am certainly going through the pain barrier here, the learning curve is becoming more steep but it is clear that at a certain point there are number of items that need replacing as a matter of course.

P
  1. PCV system (rocker cover) - Part # 32213460 The whole thing needed replacing as the PCV valve is not working and we have pipework stuffed with carbon. This leads to weird error codes to do with the MAF (false positive). Parts costs £200
  2. EGR - this was replaced by Volvo Main Dealer at £840. This may have been gummed up due to the faulty PCV system?
  3. Exhaust Pressure valve sensor - Part # 31319419 - the steel pipe leading to the sensor is stuffed full of carbon. £150
  4. Maximum Air pressure sensor (MAP) - Part # 31405341 - the sensor is caked in carbon, £45 part price

Stupidly I took this car to Halfords for a Gold service, they have put in the wrong oil grade so that has taught me yet another lesson, Fully synthetic 0w20, always flush and more basically, change the oil yourself as you will know you have the right grade in your motor!
