  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Have you made sure that no wifi is connected to the car, not even the car's own data sim if you have installed one? What worked for me was switching wi-fi off in the 'communications' section of the 'settings' menu. This reset the 'remove' button in the apps section so that the app could be deleted and a fresh install made from a fresh download.

Sounds complicated, but its not really. It worked first time for me, but I haven't tried it again to see if its a reliable answer.

I've got a similar problem with Spotify this evening. Downloaded update, it installed it, but when go into spotify, it still says there's an update available and to update - so i can't access the normal spotify controls.

I installed the update while spotify was "active", so i suspect it's some kind of glitch like that. We just need a "kill apps" function like you have on an iphone/ipad where you can kill the app and restart it. It just feels like the app hasn't restarted - for Unix followers, I essentially want a 'kill -9'

So I don't use TuneIn, but out of interest I sat in my car and did the update this morning. I connected the car to my house Wifi, opened the Download Centre (or whatever its called) app, and saw the TuneIn update, as well as weather, Spotify and Volvo On Call. I tapped to update TuneIn and it downloaded and installed. I also did the other apps at the same time. After that I started the TuneIn app and all was fine.

So my guess is that the system is failing when you do an update from within the app, which I believe you are forced to do, so not very handy!

As for Spotify, I'm quite hopeful for this one, as in another post its suggested that the performance is improved. I tried opening Spotify, and it did start up and played my last played playlist, but there were no controls, only a large spinner and the message 'Application is updating. Please wait'. I gave it a few minutes but nothing changed, so left it, locked the car and will see how it looks later.

Note the description of the Spotify update was 'This is a major update that contains several improvements, new features and bug fixes'.

In the screenshot attached, Spotify was playing, and I could use the steering wheel and physical button in the centre console to skip tracks back and forth.

Of the 6 updates I had pending yesterday, 5 had that very same description. Not very informative really.

Today, just started the car, connected to the internet and was advised of two updates.
Into download centre and there was TuneIn and Spotify, downloaded and installed with no problems.

Yesterday, along with other updates, I did the Volvo ID one.
On completion, I checked and it had the correct email address.
Just need to try a Send to Car, as a final check.

Tem, do you still send to car from wego.here.com? If so I'd be interested to hear how you get on. Today my wife sent a destination to the car from the site, but the destination never arrived. She called me while driving and I tried re-sending, but again it didn't arrive. I then sent the same address from my VoC mobile app and it arrived immediately, along with the two we'd tried sending from wego.here.com.

Yes, I only use a desktop or iPad, to Send to Car.
Just sent a destination and will see if it has been successful, shortly.

I do not have VOC.
Used the wego.here.com web site.
Using an iPad is handy when travelling, but prefer the desktop as one can use the mouse and send a precise location.
