Tunein App will not work after upgrade - Page 5

had this before, delete the app and reinstall...

I just received a new XC90 and to my surprise there is no TuneIn available at all. I was told by the dealer that after some upgrade the entire app doesn't work hence they have removed it. Can anyone verify?

The app in the car is a subscription only app, you can't use the free version like you can on your phone so no great loss to me as I never installed it.

Are you referring to TuneIn or Spotify? I've used TuneIn for free in the car (although not for a few weeks admittedly).

Another one of my mistakes. I am not into all this tech stuff. You are correct I confused Tunein (whatever that is) with Spotify which I tried to install when I got my car but deleted when it said I need to subscribe.
Not having a good week am I. On holiday so must be all the late nights and I should not go on here or ebay when I have had a few. Dread to think what will arrive in the post when I get home.

I use TuneIn virtually every day to listen Smooth Extra and it is free.
Cannot remember, but some of the apps have to be downloaded, once connected to the internet?

Just checked mine and it's working well; in fact probably better than before in terms of start-up time.

I see that you are in Hong Kong. Perhaps it's not available/blocked there?

Ha ha. TuneIn lets you listen to radio stations from around the world.

I use it to listen to local cricket and rugby commentary on BBC Radio Leeds when I'm outside its transmitter coverage area.

I have just tried Tunein on my car, it works, is it a wifi operated system and only works when connected, I have wifi in the car so worked for me, how do you get more stations, there were a limited number already there and I could only choose one of those and could not see how to find more. There were a couple from Leeds among them, I am in North Yorkshire at the moment.

Yes, it needs a data connection, either a data SIM or tethered phone.

Off the top of my head I can't remember how to get more stations but there are literally thousands available and you can store your favourites.

I'll look how to do it next time I'm in the car.
