Thanks for all the replies.

Have switched out the sensor and still reading 158mph on sensor 1 all other sensors reading correctly. Wiring to sensor looks intact. Would a hard reset/ battery disconnect for 10mins reset the abs module?

So fault was abs sensor front left Volvo part number 31362356.

Easily replace although fault did not clear quickly. This did throw me off thinking it was a wiring fault. After 10min drive fault still displayed and couple of faults remained. In the end disconnected battery in the boot for 10mins as we had city safety fault also. So ignition off with boot open for 10mins and then removed negative battery lead for 10mins. Faults then cleared on next drive.

Good to see that the battery reset method is still working! My dealer explained that one to me March 2016 when my box fresh newly delivered XC90 failed on delivery day. Have used it a few times since.
