Volvo V60 timing belt D2 information
Just purchased a 2011 Volvo V60 1.6 r design, I have decided to do the timing belt as this has not already been done (currently at 108000). However there is a severe lack of information on the D2 engine e.g do you need specialist locking tools, difficulty in the job and estimated times.
Can anyone recommend any sites or aftermarket manuals I found the timing belt on a 2006 XC90 D5 engine very easy once I got the correct tool for locking the crankshaft Any information would much appreciated |

Not difficult there are holes to line up in the crank pulse wheel and the cam drive wheel , use dowel pins ,and the HP Fuel pump has a cut out and hole at about 3 o clock which needs to line up , not for pump timing of course but to even out the heavy pulses in the cam belt , to ensure a pump pulse does not coincide with a valve opening pulse.. Be very careful with the magnetic wheel on the nose of the crank behind the pulley don't touch the rubberised magnetic rim at all , it is quite delicate.
