Well on a 50k buy, 10% is not relevant since you are looking at a proper XC90 with a chassis that will allow you to go offroad.
But if the offroad component is not important for you, just scrap the Inscription Pro, use the normal Inscription as a base add the extras I've mentioned and you can have almost the same configuration for around 46-47k.

Heated seats are standard on the 90 series cars; think its the same for the new XC60, but not for the other models.

With reference to the 'chassis that will allow you to go offroad' on the Inscription Pro, are you referring to the air suspension? If so, its worth the OP bearing in mind that the air suspension does have additional advantages, not just increased ride height in offroad mode, i.e. a 'different' ride quality, the ability to self level when carrying or towing heavy loads, the ability to lower the car slightly in dynamic mode and the ability to lower when parked for easier entry and ingress.

Also, I am reasonably confident you do get offroad mode without air, just not the ability to increase ride height.

Personally I would not buy a Diesel for Cash full stop........... unless you really intend to keep this car for a very long time, expect little resale value, and not want to drive in some cities, just my opinion.

Have a look at carwow. When I was buying my car (albeit new), they offer the largest discount. Once you configure a new car, they will email you details of vehicles available for immediate delivery that are close to the specification of the new car you configured

Autotrader lists brand new vehicles. A new Momentum can be had for £44k though I would expect you can haggle that price further.

Offroad without raising the car height is not offroad, it's just playing in the dirt/gravel and your car has almost no additional functionality than a V60 / V90 CC.

It's an Euro 6 Diesel. When the ban on Euro 6 diesels happens, it will also ban all the current petrol T5 and T6 engines...So this is not an argument.

Ahh that makes sense, I've been looking at V60s where heated seats aren't standard.

Apologies for the confusion.

Off road mode provides low speed control for improved traction when say pulling a caravan on wet grass, or pulling a boat up a sandy slip. In addition, it provides lighter steering and hill descent control.

All depends what you want off road to be, the XC90 is never going to be a rock crawler, that's not its thing, but the addition of off-road mode even without the ability to raise the ride height maybe beneficial to some. I've used it on snow to navigate slippery steep lanes and its been great, but i didn't need the additional ground clearance in that situation.

Baer in mind that even on standard springs, the XC90 has more clearance than a V60/V90.

Why expect little resale? Yes people are moving to elect but very slowly. Cars are not suddenly going to massively drop in value because an electric version is now available (which will probably cost a chunk more than the current equivalent car).

The not wanting to drive in cities I don't think will happen for any modern car for many many years. There was lots of talk of exactly this in Southampton but realised it was just so unrealistic and cancelled it completely. London is the only city it might apply to IMO.

Given the electric infrastructure in the country they may even be worth more lol
