2.5" Jetex exhaust too noisy.
I've put a 2.5 jetex system on my 850R. It has one silencer up front and nothing on the back. It's married to a 3" downpipe with sports cat.
There's no motorway drone, and once you get up above 2000 RPM everything is good. It's just a little embarrassing around town. Between about 1300rpm and 1900rpm it becomes REALLY resonant and loud. I wondered if adding one of these at the back might help: |

Yeah if you have some sort of back box on it that will definitely quieten it down. I had a BSR system with backbox which I understand is basically the same as the Jetex and that didn't give me any issues. It does sound like you've got an unresonated system which is going to be properly noisy at certain revs.

Must be the downpipe as I have a 2.5" Jetex on my 850 T5 and I actually find it a little too quiet! Almost on par with the standard system.

Does yours have he two silencers or one?
Even with the standard exhaust it was louder. But where as before it growled at high revs, and was not more than stock at standard revs. |

Ah yes, I have a centre section box and then a back box. Unless you've already ordered one I can measure the back box for you tomorrow so you have a rough idea?

Thanks for the offer, I went under and measured up, I've ordered an oval box which should fit in quite nicely. The 3" downpipe really does make a lot more noise so needs quite a lot of silencing.
