Default Noisy boot floor?

Hi All,

I was travelling earlier without the music on and noticed a rattle in what sounds like the parcel shelf/boot floor area.

I lifted up the boot floor and I accidentally dropped it and it coincidentally made the same kind of noise.

Its an S60 2014 and had an MOT last week before I bought so I'm fairly sure it isn't suspension related. The floor does feel kind of flimsy, any ideas on how to stop the noise? It's definitely a hollow sounding rattle

Have you got anything in the underfloor tray that may be stopping it lowering fully ?

Is it missing a rubber pad where the floor panel sits on the metal floor that can cause rattles.

Finally if you have the divider is this fully closed I've had rattle from that before when a folded bag was stopping it shutting fully.

Maybe something checked at the MOT hasn't been fully seated

Hi Andy,

I can fasten the floor by turning the knob and securing it so it definitely seats properly.

As for the rubber pad missing.. I did drive with the floor/cover folded up so it didn't touch the boot floor and it was still the same..

I'm now thinking thats its the flimsy piece of trim on the inside side of the boot lip (that the floor sits on)
