240 Turbo

Thinking about selling my 240T one of a kind.
I have recently been thinking about a change in direction of my hobby and thinking about selling my 240 Turbo.
Heres a quick rundown, I have included (in brackets) the price of things I have spent on the car. 1991 240 GL estate, MOT until late December, taxed till end of May Engine Rebuilt B230fk engine with under 5000 miles on the clock.(new second oversize pistons, crank bearing shells. Machine work to rebore the block and grind the crank to suit new pistons and crank bearings £740) New 740 turbo clutch fitted in early 2009 (£160) T3 turbo from a 760 in very good order. Custom flexible Turbo oil feed and return pipes (£50) 940 intercooler (later type) Mocal oil cooler sandwich plate, large oil cooler and pipes (£110) Boost pressure and narrowband gauges (£60) K+N air filter and oil breather filter. Suspension Brakes and wheels Fully polybushed (£180 not including fitting) Bilstein HD shocks front and rear (£240) B+G -40mm Lowering springs (£150) Zimmerman crossdrilled brake discs front and rear, Mintex deluxe pads front and rear and stainless steel braided hoses. (£280 not icluding shipping from USA) Volvo Galaxies in super condidtion, no kerb rash at all, 225, 50, 16 dunlop SP2000 tyres with about 5 mm tread all round, spare galaxy with dunlop tyre (205,50,16) (Galaxies?? priceless?) tyres were £90 each say at least £600 worth) So thats over £2500 in parts alone, plus I have done an awful lot of messing about and running to and fro getting other bits and bobs and sorting stuff out. The car goes very well, 0-60 in around 8 seconds (maybe less) corners superbly, and top speed is unknown (speedo goes upto 120 and the needle will go well past that with ease. Puts many modern hot hatches and luxo barges to shame. Bad points, The car is in need of cosmetic work, ideally it needs a full respray to bring it up to show standard, it needs new bonnet hinges and bonnet, a new rear bumperskin and rear valance, it needs a stereo and a centre vent. I am planning on installing more gauges and have collected gauge holders and bezels to complete this. Shell is solid but needs a new rear panel at the tailgate slam plate and rear arch lips sorting. Serious offers considered.

What is making you think of selling Mike? Surely after the amount of work and pride that has gone into it, it would be better to keep - even if you store it for a year or two and get the cosmetics up to scratch?
just my 2p worth... Steve

As if being into Volvos wasn't oddball enough!
I used to have a CF, the novelty will wear off... 2 litre, 3 speed auto - probably why it only has 11k on it, nobody could afford to run it! |

Seems a shame to sell the car after all the work you have done on it. Trouble is if you don't you either have to keep it and find a way of having both or just stick with it.
I have managed to find ways of keeping previous projects which is why I now have 6 cars of which only 2 are roadworthy ! One of my other cars is a 4x4 transit Mk 2, which is about as mad as it gets really unless I went out and bought a 4x4 Bedford army truck. Bit big to keep on the drive though ! |

I have a place to store the Volvo on Grizs drive but I am thinking about getting an Amazon too and 3 Vehicles is too much, never mind 4 (dont forget I have a MiniMetro too)
