I built the Phase2 4.3 Motronic Flash Code reader but it did not work. I was told the elect managment sys is ME7.0, how can I be sure?

Can anyone recommend a code reader that will show what are the codes and erase (without batt. discon.)
The check engine came on about 3 weeks ago and I borrowed a code reader and as far as I could tell it showed a timing error, the car sounds/runs ok I disconnected the batt. but after about 3 days the Check eng light came on again, yesterday it went off by itself (maybe the computer is so smart it fixed itself !!!).
I'll appreciate your help
Israel

Hi Israel
First off the flash code reader will not work on any car other than the 850 series and the 10v 70 series to 1999....
You will certainly not have a ME7 ECM
Has you car got a distributor cap?....if so it will be 4.4 if not Denso
The service light tool should work on your vehicle, however code reading will depend on your ECM type
HTH
Cheers

1. Press and hold the trip button in.
2. turn on the ign so that all lights come on ,Dont start.
3. the trip will go to 0000 Wait until you hear a beep and release.
4 the trip will now read the original mileage that was shown before but the service light should be out.

Saves posting a toll around the country?

Si.
No it will not work.....
Cheers

Hi Jod

This is a generous offer, are you footing the cost of the postage outwards?? Seems unfair on you, I'd be happy to pay both ways or give a donation to VOC.

Anyways, if it will work on a 96 T5 then please add me to your list.

My address is:

(I'll pm the address)

Matt
