Default Blocked fuel/water drain pipe below fuel filler

Hello Volvo Community.
Just bought my very first Volvo and loving it.
Now when trying to clear the blocked fuel/water drain pipe located just below the fuel filler pipe behind the filler cap in recess. I stupidly pushed the wire I was using to hard and pushed the pipe out of the rubber housing. Please be kind before I hear words like what a plonker.
I am now left with a small hole and cannot get to the pipe.
I am not sure if I can get to it by removing the rear wheel arch lining or from inside the boot. Or another method.
Any advice please would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

It would help if you stated what year your V40 is. There is the classic 1966 - 2004 and the later ones which are very different cars.

I know this is an old post but did you ever retrieve the drain pipe and manage to relocate it? I managed to push the grommet out while cleaning the tube today and I am considering removing the wheel arch liner if that's the way to go.
