Default 1800E

I have had volvos for years my first being a 240GL estate. I have had various versions of that model and now am a proud owner of a 850S estate. Being a Volvo man through and through(I wouldn't buy another car!) someone I know offered me a 1800E First registered in 1970. I have had quite a good look at it and it seems in good condition. It has fuel injection and alloys everything adds up correctly. It has benn offered to me for £2000. Is this a fair price? I wouldn't part with the cash until I have had it up on ramps and checked for what work, if any has been done rust wise. It has 12 months MOT and 3 months tax as well.
Your comments and suggestions please
Regards
Dave
