Default Look what I bought!

Hi all I finally got the car I have been after for some time.I was after a 740 but this 940 came along at the right price.

It is a rough one but at the price I got it for I really can't complain.
It's biggest fault is the wet carpets.

It needs a good service and a damn good wash and polish. It will never be a head turner apart from what it is but with a lot of work it will be presentable.

I drove it home today and couldn't beleave how quite and smooth it was,And it certainly moved when you put your foot down.So everything seems well and I can't wait to start really getting to know it.
1994 2.3L automatic.

I have put the fleabay pictures up for now which make it look a lot better than it was,And if anyone here was watching it and knows what price it went for the winning bidder with one feedback didn't turn up then I have the pleasure in telling you I paid very little for her as it may need a rear screen due to a leak and the fact it had no tax and only one months MOT.

Enjoy Brian.

Hi John the pictures are very misleading and I intend using it as a family car to carry six adults and two medium sized dogs.
I almost gave up hope of getting a Limo because the half decent ones fetch about a grand?
Well I got this one for less than half that so I can't complain really.
It needs work but I'm used to that as most of my cars are almost beyond saving and consequently cheap.I have a 1991 240SE estate and a 1990 740GLE both estates.

I will take some true pictures before I start working on it and any work I do will be photographed as well.

I'm just real happy I eventually got one.

It even has a reversing bleeper Lol.

Regards Brian.

Awesome limo!

I reckon drop in a B230FT and tune it to around 300hp and have fun thoroughly surprising the Subaru WRX boys ;-)

Hi matbat it has the B230FB which isn't the fastest but I'm sure a few folks will be suprised when a funeral car tries to out accelerate them Lol.

I'm not into racing but know what you mean (wolf in sheeps clothing).

Just hope it fulfills my needs and isn't to much trouble when finding parking etc.It happens to be two inches shorter than my works van which is a transit 90 T350 long wheelbase hightop so I'm very used to driving the length and the Limo benefits from the much better turning circle.
Thanks Brian.

Nice one Brian! Glad that you have at last found yourself a limo. I know it will not disappoint you to drive. Just hope you can sort out the wet carpet problem.

Thanks Mike my attitude is if it wasn't leaking before then it can be leak free again.Just tracking it down.I will have to strip all the carpets and put them somewhere warm and suck all the water out from under the steel floor trays.

It may have a CD changer as I just noticed the radio can do cd's and I caught a glimpse of some box under the rear parcel shelf?

Anyone know if this car would have had remote locking on it it's a 1994 model. No fob but just wondered.it also has a properly fitted handsfree mobile kit but is probably for an older style phone .I will get a phone to fit once I get chance. Also thinking of fitting a rear camera to help with the parking bit.As Mike pointed out "don't forget you have a boot after the rear window"I must say looking in the rearview mirror it looks suprisingly like in the estates.I did my first three point turn in it today and it was SO easy I grinned.Just love that reversing bleeper!it's not to loud but says "Hi look at me"well not literally just makes people look Lol.

Thanks Brian

Cool

Smashing car. You'll sort out the leaks no bother!!

Then we could have a lad's night out!! Get 10 in there.

How come it's only got wheel covers on one side? Or are there alloys on one side and steels on the other?

Keep us up to date on it.
