Alloy Wheels
Does anybody know what alloy wheels fit the 130 series ( apart from the Minilite / Superlite series ) ? The car in the web page has a lovely set, where did they come from ?

RE: Alloy Wheels
I don't have an answer for you but I need the same info for my 122S. If you hear anything please let me know. I assume we are both talking about the 5-spoke alloys shown on the main Amazon webpage. If you have a website address for Minilite/Superlite I would appreciate that too.

RE: Alloy Wheels
I have just restored a 1969 2 door 132 Amazon. I have fitted a set of GB Alloys. They have a five lug pattern. I can get you the correct size details if you wish.
They look pretty damn good! My e-mail is vrodriguez@structuretone.co.uk |

Hi Johnnysigns
Do you still have the 5.5Jx15 Amazon accessory wheels ? If so, I would be very interested in buying them. What is the asking price? Are they "Kronprinz"-6136B, "Kronpriz"-6134B, "Lemmerz"-1538, or Volvo 613 014 ? Fred Nuesser e-mail: Nuesser@megsinet.net |

RE: Alloy Wheels
Hello again,
Thanks to VERO's message and some opportune use of a 1965 Ford Mustang, I have been able to verify that the wheels on the Mustang and the Volvo are interchangeable but that the average Mustang wheel would put too much stress on the Volvo due to it's extra width. Upon a little further investigation, I discovered that the 5 spoke wheels that I would like are available from Halibrand. www.halibrand.com The wheels are period and are still made on the original wooden chuck used in the 50's. I know that they fit and now to get a set. Thanks for the help. Thomas |

RE: Alloy Wheels
the Halibrands are a popular HotRod/custom car wheel, you might also like to check out SS CRAGARS and also SUPREMES as they are identical in their styling.
I run 7j wheels on my 133 with no problems. When choosing wheels it is important to look at the Offset of the wheel, you can get a wheel with a much larger offset into a Volvo wheel arch without it protruding from the bodywork which i feel looks much better than the stock skinny rims. I've just returned from South Africa (Nr Capetown) and there are a few nice amazons out there mostly running wide steels and spares are plentiful and very very cheap. |
