Any idea if we'll be stung by C&E yet?

Hi,

I am assuming that we will get hit for the VAT (Vatsards!) but what else, I am unsure.
As far as I have heard, no one that got these were hit with anything other than the VAT..

But we're saving more than that on shipping and discount..

I've bought quite a few things from the States and always found that if the seller uses USPS (united states parcel service) then all you usually pay is the VAT when royalmail deliver the parcel which is fair enough.
However if they use the courier UPS then they sting you with VAT and around 3-5% just for paying the VAT in advance for you, so you pay a total of average 21% customs charge

Hi,

I am thinking that I get the other hald to CC the payment as she has an obscene amount of credit limit then a cheque to her for the payment?

Not sure whether IPD would be happy with 4 or 5 payments from different people..

Waiting for 10 may take forever.
It's not as if I have been keeping it a secret, afterall!!

However, I was considering doing the order later this week - Thursday or Friday.
Advantagious as the pound is currently climbing up in value against the dollar . . .

More discount for us..
