Same here. After almost three years of happy ownership, The Volvo feels as comfortable and familiar as my favourite leather jacket and has become an integral part of who I am; It will probably remain in my ownership for years, despite other cars that I may acquire in the meantime

Exactly how i feel. And people find it strange, that i have "bonded" more to my old volvo than i ever did to my CTR, but thats just the way it goes i guess.

I like the fact that i could get in my volvo now, and travel to where i want. Germany, france, italy, wherever.

My mates 52 reg Pug 307 however, i wouldnt trust that AT ALL

I have always been sure of a good Volvo's ability to take long journeys in its stride, but after driving The Volvo to North Wales and back (via Wakefield) last week, I have come to the conclusion that it is more or less indestructable

Footnote: I was going to drive The Volvo to Nuremberg and back this coming week, but it will be a lot quicker to fly from Stanstead. A good pal of mine is making the same trip in his C70 Convertible. I wonder how it'll fare?

Apparently the trip from S-O-S to Nuremburg will take about 8 hours, not including the Channel crossing. The flight will take 70 minutes, which leaves more time for serious Bavarian beer and pretzel tomfoolery. The Volvo on the 'ring would be a lot of fun, though

Once I replace the shocks, I may very well do a track day or two in the car

my 1st volvo was a '90 745 2.3 gle, we had her for 4 years and every mot she past 1st time except each time before the mot id have to adjust the handbrake! we never spent a penny on her except battery, plugs, air filter and oil. she started 1st time every time, never let us down and was lovely to drive! i think they are the best volvos ever made!
we now have a '96 855 2.5 10v glt, and although shes faster shes not as well built. i would love a 740/60 turbo int. but im trying to talk my wife around at the moment and it might take a few months!! id better finish decorating 1st!
