1988 Volvo 240GLT Auto

Hi all,

1988 240GLT for sale. This has been owned by a friend of mine since new - bought in 1988 from Rudds Volvo it has been in his possession ever since. Whilst in his ownership it has a complete full service history (there are over 70 documents last time I counted), and has had regularly servicing throughout it's life with him.

It has the standard B230E engine, pulls strong as intended and the automatic box works perfectly fine as well. The leather seats are in good condition as is most of the trim on the vehicle. It has had regular oil changes by local garages and by Volvo itself as can seen from the documents which come with the car.

The body, whilst it is in good shape and straight as a die, has a few rust spots that will be needing attention. The lower left bit of the windscreen is rusting slightly, and will need a repair. It has been filled with windscreen sealant by a technician a few months back however and there are no leaks. The other rust area is on the top of the strut mount where the hinge for the bonnet is located; this will require a metal sheet to be cut and welded in and then sprayed in the engine bay silver (#130 Volvo silver). The front right hand arch has a slight bit of surface rust bubbling through but it is quite small as you can see from the photographs.

The Virgos are in good shape and the two fronts have both recently had new tyres put on them and haven't seen 30 miles on them at least. Cosmetically this car could do with a clean up and the rust areas needing attention but the mechanical bits are all as strong as they were when they left the factory. The sunroof works perfectly fine and the handle is still attached. MOT runs out on 20/1/16 and it currently has a reading of 120,500 miles.

Any interior pictures please . I notice there are no headrest covers in place , do you have these ?

Unfortunately we don't have the headrests that go with the car, but I do know a few people who have a set for sale if you require them.

Rust has been sorted - strut tower and the windscreen has been sorted too, the windscreen surround plus a brand new windscreen seal. Still for sale!
