XC60 2010 Daylight Detection
I've noticed that my car has the ability to detect the level of daylight and therefore change the brightness of the illumination on the binnacles.
Can anyone therefore please tell me why the electronics are not able to turn on the DRLs (which are not real DRLs on this model) as it all seems a bit daf? I was able to get the Sealership to update the software enable the headlight switch so I could turn them off during the day but the two LEDs strips are also turned off with them. I could understand if the car had no smarts onboard to detect daylight, but it does! |

The "LED strips" are in fact parking lights, not DRL's on that year the DRL's are dipped beam headlights. So the parking lights are not bright enough for daytime use.

I actually stated that and am aware of this but they could be retro-fitted for brighter ones on replaced at factory, but why add the daylight detection into the onboard processors if it's not really going to be used. Another £20 in adding in the brighter LEDs and away ya go!
