Thanks.
I don't have the part number to hand but I have posted it several times here before - you should be able to find it. As said earlier all the wiring is there, but getting all the side panels off to install in the correct place is a pain in the backside - not difficult, just awkward. there is a Volvo tech instruction telling you how to do it - also previously posted.

I'm still waiting for the after sales call to sell me all the insurance, coatings etc. as I think he will be assuming he will get some of his lost profit back from those.

I think he will be a bit disappointed, I have already booked a new car detailing makeover with a professional set up in Gillingham who come highly recommended by Gtechniq. Will also be purchasing GAP insurance (RTI I think?) independently as it is about half the price Volvo quoted.
Push your dealer on GAP, etc as they will bend , though now you have signed it will be harder

I had the GAP, alloys, and dent insurance thrown in free and only paid the labour for the paint protection as they contract to a specialist thus I had to pay the labour element - they claimed it was worth £1500 total, my view was nearer £750 value, but still worth it.

The product they applied is G3 Glasscoat

Just had a look...........and can make out the embossing on the back of the side panel for the location of the socket (just pull out cover for rear light cluster and inset hand to the left).

However, if you look at the volvo accessory instructions, you have to remove lots of stuff to get access to the panel before you locate the lead that plugs into the back of the 12v accessory..........

Fitting it is a doddle but look at the preparation work http://accessories.volvocars.com/Acc...93-1/XC60_2014

I can't for the life of me see why they wouldn't fit one during assembly as it would probably take less than 5 mins as all relevant bits could already be inserted on the panelling. The lead is already there on the wiring loom as well.

Can I be cheeky and ask how much your Gtechniq detail is going to cost? Does sound like the way to go.

Also think your car will turn up before mine so also be really interested in your thoughts when you've had it done!

Very similar specs eh!

About £500 + VAT but he said until they see the car they cannot give a precise figure. I have heard, and confirmed by these guys, that cars often arrive at dealers with less than perfect paint. I guess where they've been left outside etc or small stone chips whilst being transported. Obviously they want the paint as perfect as possible before applying the products so they said it is possible some minor corrective work may need to be done.

That price is for the full car jobby, not just the bodywork. Includes the following:

Paintwork cleansed and clayed to remove all surface contaminants and waxes
Alloy wheels, wheel arches, door, bonnet and boot shuts deep cleansed
Alloy wheels deep cleansed inside and out, completely sealed with C5 Wheel Armour
Paintwork coated with C1+ Crystal Lacquer followed with 2 coats EXO V2
All exterior trim treated using C4 Permanent Trim Restorer
Glass coated with G1 ClearVision Smart Glass
Carpets vacuumed, interior trim cleaned and coated with C6 Natural Trim
Fabric seats and carpets coated with I1 Smart Fabric to repel staining and spilt liquids
Leather seats coated with L1 Leather Guard to prevent surface staining from dark coloured materials eg. jeans
Tyres dressed with T1 Long Life Tyre Gel

I think the price is fairly competitive, I looked around at a few places but decided on the one in Gillingham as Gtechniq seemed very positive about the company. I get a bit carried away with stuff like this but I like to look after my things. I imagine I will have this done again in around 3 years time!

So is it possible to fit this without seemingly dismantling the whole rear side interior as per the Volvo instructions later in this post/trail. It seems it's necessary to remove the panel to make the hole for the socket and it's not clear if the existing cable is reachable without said panel removal too. I'm sure all the prep/rebuilt work would take me well over 10 mins :-)

FYI, I'm referring to a MY2015 model.
