Wont help for a permanent fix but for a temporary fix [backing up to a tow hitch] I've bought the cheapest WIFI action camera that worked consistently [the most basic GoPro one after rejecting some at £50 which didn't work] then you just link it to your phone and you have live [very slight delay and non reversed] video stream to work with.

On the subject of powering the camera, I read somewhere that it is a good idea to keep the camera powered up on the ignition, so a little self heating keeps it from freezing or misting up.

I used to work in CCTV and we had to cope with the same issue, and keeping the camera on was one solution.

I want to fit my reversing camera in the spoiler above the tailgate, so will be exposed to the elements, is this going to be a problem?

Cheers...

Isn't that illegal to be able to see it from the driver's seat???
My dvd player has a feed from the handbrake, so it knows when the car is at rest.
