this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzWpH--SCys shows the difference in effort needed to break tempered vs laminated (i posted it on another thread recently). You can see when the guy breaks the laminated rear quarter (2 mins 28 secs), it takes several attempts to even make a small hole, when he has a go at the tempered front side window (3 mins), it goes straight away.

Laminated glass is two layers of glass with a layer of polythene in between , they dont break in the conventional way they stay intact as the polythene holds all the pieces together . Very difficult to break through , thats the point in having them , thief prevention , they cant get in the car even if they throw a brick at the glass .
Its hard to imagine if the car rolls over that the car would not get mishaped around the window and as I say, if it doesn't, simply open the door!

I understand that the glass would not break as such but is likely the glass itself would still be fully attached to the frame

Thanks for quick reply
I am not affraid to sink in the river, cose I haven't any in my everyday route to work. I haven't seen any river from years.
Laminated glass I wanted due to noise and UVA reduction,
but additionally I am protected from accidental hit by any fast moving object like not good protected cargo on trucks and of course from the thieft.
If I have to get out of my car in emergency I have 5 doors and one should be enough to get out without breaking the glass.

I have found some clips about safety with laminated glass.

For all who affraid to sink in his car I recomend this smallest air source (that's the size of a can of cola.) and cost $299.

I suggest to try to escape through the opened window from XC60 when parked,
it could be very easy for children but not so easy for adults (except these who still keep fit).

Just for information laminated windows are cut using a battery powered saw by the emergency services.
