Default MY V70 D5 experience so far !

Ok... here we go

Its still in the garage !
The fuel pump was not easy to locate. Looks like D5 pumps are RARE . Battery also is not very good. But both new parts arrive tomorrow and the mechanics think all is fine

So, I had fuel all the time. The sender was correct . The pump had just stopped
Relay etc is fine .
The day i bought it was a great day. Early train up from London .Must admit travelling by train is so easy and not expensive.£12.00 to Yorkshire !
Mike had turned up to do a injector test and run through the codes etc . Injector 1 is returning FAST ! number 2 (L-R) is catching up .
With the money i got knocked off ,I am still happy . I like to know whats going on quickly and sort it all out rather than just hoping ! The timing belt will be done tomorrow as well

Bit of luck and I get the car back for the weekend .
Popped into Bradford to find 2 x good front tyres . managed to get some Michelin Pilot sports with less than a mm worth of wear for £70 for both including them swapping over the rears so i had the best of the original tyres on the back. Feel a lot better having some real rubber on the front. http://springmilltyres.co.uk/ I would recommend them .
By this time i was starving ! Little Google search led me to the "International"
ok, i was the only person there , it was 5pm , But what lovely food and great people. http://www.viewbradford.co.uk/restau...iew-59559.html
I was also SHOCKED at Bradford. Lets be honest we hear so much negative comments about the place .I am sure some will be true
But... What a lovely place, People friendly, cleaner than London and i made a point of driving around some of the less wealthy areas . Again. better than i expected .

So fuelled up and ready for my first Journey i set off. I LOVE the car, far better inside than the E39's i looked at . The car drove straight and sounds almost like a Boxster engine subaru . I was not to know it was going to end on the hard shoulder 180 miles later !But thanks to Green Flag i got home safe and they took the car the next day to the garage .

My to do list will be , get the engine mounts done ASAP as Mike ("Outnumbered")pointed out they are not holding pressure and this could cause issue with the turbo etc ?

Get the parrot phone system up and running and them play with the amp and speakers . Injectors and that should be it !
Little things like the first day it is really cold and the wife tries the heated seats will be fun !

Anyone got a link to the best fast road setting when having the tracking done? I will get it done on a "hunter" system by someone who really is good .
I wonder is there is any magic dial in settings that improve the steering etc
Worked a treat on my Golf and MX5 etc

Thats it..!

So thanks to Mike

And dont dismiss Bradford. I will happily return , the food was that good !

Good luck with the car.

Disagree about Bradford though. It's a **** hole :-)
