cam belt
can anyone tell me please
how often should the cam belt be changed?? |

I think Volvo quote about every 80,000 miles or 8 years on average, but I may be mistaken.
I've always done mine (be it a Volvo or not) at about half of that just to play it safe, Infact doing mine in next couple of weeks as I've only had the car for a three weeks and it's something I like to know exactly when it was done. Doing the VVT pulley too for piece of mind !!!! |

just wanted to check cos i've just bought the car and i've found a bill from the previous owner and its got 27/01/2011 on it for cam belt ,pulley and tensioner so i think i will be ok for this year then many thanks |

Cambelt
You could always check with the previous owner. I did for mine and got a computer print out of the work carried out from the dealer as well. Doesnt hurt to ask.

Cam belt is every 8 years on a petrol S/V40, every 6 years on a diesel (did my diesel one last year and its my petrol S40's turn this year)!
You should be okay for another few years! |
