Somebody buy it and put the engine back in its proper place. Silly monstrosity.

I like it, if only to celebrate that "because we can" attitude.

All for that, completely agree!

We've done it now though

I love the spirit of 'can we build a car with a Meteor/Merlin engine?' but it looks a bit like a distorted Reliant Scimitar to me so I don't think I'll be bidding this time round. ... And I don't think the wife would sanction £100k for an unusable car either

I remember seeing the car and meeting John Dodds at a Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club meeting back in the eighties. Yes it was eligible for club membership as it was powered by a R-R engine

Every hour on the hour he would start it up.and blow the eardrums of everyone present. A true eccentric - much lacking in today's grey society.

I just looked up the MOT history, and apart from failing on just about everything, there's an advisory saying "exhaust noisy"!!

First road car to do a genuine 200 mph? On crappy 70s tyres no less.

Someone contact Jay Leno, he's rich enough to fuel it and would be right at home in his garage. He likes interesting obscure stuff.

I just love the fact that someday someone st down with a pencil and a piece of paper and said "Right... today I'm going to fit that massive engine into a car...".

This was proper engineering, things had to be made that had never been made before, not just a different computer chip....

There was a guy in Performance Car Magazine, I think, who had an Aero engined SD1 Rover. Also the stunning blower Bentley recreation that costs an absolute fortune has one, I remember Clarkson driving it against a monstrous German recreation on Top Gear.
