Just a heat exchanger in the coolant line before the filter. 2 x solenoid valves for feed and return and a 5 l starting tank. All easy to do its just plumbing!

Thread resurrection from a home Bio-diesel maker.
I make and have used Bio-diesel in all of my cars at 100% for a number of years. I have never broke one yet or had any issues with the fuel except a couple of blocked fuel filters when I first started making bio and i had a few "poor" batches. My recently purchased 2010 V70 D5 is the newest car I have run on Bio, so It's still in the trial period. So far so good. Any other home brewers here running B100? I am a bit concerned about the known DPF and rising engine oil issue because my oil dilution issue would be with 100% Bio not the 7%-10% range from pump fuel. The question is does my year and engine type suffer from the rising oil issue or was it resolved after a certain time? Either way, I have always changed my engine oil after 6k miles or 6 months. To those putting anything other that Biodiesel, veg or diesel in their tanks, I hope the HMRC don't read these forums or you may be in for an interesting chat one day? |

Is the limit for SVO still 2500 litres a year? A quick estimate at 40 MPG would give an allowance of just under 22,000 miles per annum (if my maths is correct).

Yes 2500 litres per rolling 12 months of Vegetable oil and/or Bio Diesel. All other fuel types have no exemptions from fuel duty or VAT for road use.
