Hi
knowing those cars (and the fact that almost anything requires "coding to the car") my first thought was that you wont be able to do anything key-coding related without visit into dealership, but in the same time you seem to have have replaced anything from donor car that would be important, so its a bit weird... Did you hear from confirmed source that such swap should work or its just a guess based on "would work on other cars" ?

It was an ecu and lock set which consisted of the items I’ve changed I was wondering does the fuse box have any thing to do with the immobiliser or should I try putting the original one back in as the new one may be trying to do more features?

See, the thing is fuse box (aka ECM) is an integral part of car itself and I know for fact replacing one is only possible by cloning the original unit. So technically you cant put a different ECM from another car and expect it to work, thats why loads of people resorted to cloning fried ECMs to new donor ones. I am pretty sure original ECM should stay in the car.
Normal way of dealing with key issues in those cars is either coding a new key to existing car (apx 300eur all in but only in dealership) or replacing SKU (the ignition "barrell") but then - again - coding it to the car. To my understanding, SKU and ECM must be coded to itself to work, and ECM must be coded to car so there is no 3rd option. Thats why I was wondering if your "swap all" would work at all...
the amount of electronically related components in this car is astonishing, dont let it fool you its 13 years old. Even adding heated seats or foglamps to existing wires and switches wont make them work without coding them to car's brain.

As far as I'm aware these cars have several units that are all coded to the car. The programmed codes have to match with all the others for the ECU to allow the car to start, if even one is wrong, they won't start.

Problem is that I don't know which units are programmed but the whole car is just one big software link and if you introduce anything that doesn't match the rest, it won't start.

Buying any modern car without keys is a bad idea, they're far too software dependent to resolve without a dealer and an awful lot of money.

Well, see, the thing is that I have never heard of anyone actually doing so, neither on this nor on US forum. And main reason for that its not as simple as on other cars, thats probably why. Even such trivial thing as radio/CD unit from the same model and equipment version WONT work in another car unless its coded in...
