Default Loose Mirrors

Found a youtube clip of a loose mirror (link to video not mine)

My mirrors are also loose just not as bad as the clip but did wonder if there was any way to tighten them up a bit. In other vehicles I have with electric mirrors it's possible to hold the button to extend them to the full open position but the XC90 is automatic and I can't find any way of getting them further than the pre-set stop

Click

Thanks

I dismantled my wing mirrors last year to investigate a seized folding motor / folding gears.

After removing everything to the frame I was left observing a frame that has a spring-loaded tension mechanism on the folding hinge that I was not game enough to undo. It needed special tools and pressure in the right places.

I could envisage a big sproing and pieces flying over the room resulting in a ruined mirror if I proceeded.

I thus put it all back together and decided to purchase a replacement.
A decision that I have not yet enacted....

Mine fold and unfold easily enough, they just need to unfold a couple of mm more to stop them rattling around. Not sure if there is some way for Vida to reset them
