Stain on black paint poss from chrome
I have a 2009 xc90 in black. On both sides on the rear panel there is a streak on the paint running down, it looks like an oil slick (it's definitely not oil). It starts where the chrome window surround meets in the corner. I have noticed this on other black xc90s of similar age. Does anyone know what causes it as my brothers 54 plate grey xc90 does not have this mark. I could probably t cut it out but don't want it to come back., I was wondering if it is a dodgy batch of chrome plates and if they need replacing.

It's like pollutants in the rain water (diesel particles, acid rain, nuclear fallout, etc) causing paint stains. Polish the water stain off Keep the vehicle clean and waxed Dry it with a chamois after a wash And you won't have any further problems
