V60 questions and quirks?!
I've got a 2011 v60 and a couple of questions!
1 both the headlights and drl lights are on at the same time. What's the point of having drls? Can the headlights be deactivated via a Volvo software upgrade? 2 when stationary at traffic lights and I use the electric parking brake, do I need to pull the 'lever' or can I engage first and drive off, thus disengaging the brake. Will this wear the clutch quicker? 3 do I really have to press the auto wiper button everytime I get in the car for it to be auto? Thanks in advance Matt |

Quote:
1) It's a dealer-only job to change the lighting presets, unfortunately 2) You can just engage first gear and drive off (I do this on hills), or you can pull the lever if you like ... either works. I usually prefer to release it manually. 3) Yes, you have to press the auto button every time. |

The headlights and parking lights together are the cars drl's
The strip lights are parking lights - not drl's. It is only since the facelift that Volvo have had stand alone drl's

You can run with the two sets of strip-lights only by moving the dial to position 2.
Don't forget to switch it back to position 1 though as the lights stay on even with no ignition. Fond memories of wandering out into the work car park at 7pm not long after I got it to find it illuminating the surrounding spaces! |
