Default 1997 v40 light switch advice

My lightswitch blew on my v40 phase 1 and I got a replacement one and I think it is from a 1999 model. It looks the same and block fits into back but while headlights and fog lights work but no parking lights, dash dimmer and headlight ajusters don't.Can I do anything about this such as changing wires around or is it no good.

Between those models the pin configuration in the plugs is very different. Only a few wires are common to both years.

It is possible (though very tricky) to move them around though, but from memory there are about eight wires or so which will need to be moved. And you'll need to know where to move them to.

I made a diagram, but it's stuck on a hard disc in a machine which won't work properly. I'll try to find the original, if I can, it shows both types side-by-side.

I may be wrong, Donald, but I believe on the '99 to '00 (Phase 1.5) the lights are controlled by the CEM (like the Phase 2 - '00 to '04). Gatos would be far better versed on these than I am.

If you're stuck I have a few switches here from a '98 car (Phase 1) which you can have for the P&P. Does yours have front fogs?
