Default Help Selecting Options

Hi

I am in the process of ordering a D3 AWD R-Design Premium at the moment... and need some existing owner feedback on a few of the available options.

Firstly, does anybody have the sun roof fitted? Its a lot of money, but I would like to know what people with it actually think of it. (I would also quite like to see a picture of a car with it fitted)

Secondly, am I right in thinking that map upgrades for the Satnav system have to be purchased in years to come?

What is the difference between the 'high performance Multimedia' and the 'premium sound multimedia audio system' ??? (I could ask the dealer - but with respect I would rather you guys told me)

Thanks

Better off asking on the "main" section?

I was thinking that.... I am other forums (Abarthisti for my Fiat for a start) and they are rather hot on making sure that things go in the right place.... however here it looks like the General bit is where everybody looks

Perhaps a mod could kill this thread off, and I will cut and paste it into the General area

Cheers

We just bought a 2yr old XC60 with the sun roof - it was the one option that I was determined to find. I love it - the roof is mostly glass (i.e. the sunroof is big) & the front 2/3 of the glass slides up & back to fully open the roof. It also has a tilt feature for a little ventilation. It doesn't tilt quite as much as I'd like but all in all a primo sun roof - very happy.

The back 1/3 of the sunroof doesn't open - it's just a fixed sheet

The car we got also had heated leather, electric drivers seat with memory which I'd heartedly recommend

It has iPod / USB audio cables which I'm not sure about yet & a compass in the rear view mirror, which I wouldn't bother paying for

Oh and it has the auto anti-glare rear view mirror - that's actually pretty good

Loving this car ..

Agree with all the above. If it is new it will not have the compass in the mirror. First 2 satnav updates are free (come out about July each year), thereafter paid for. As far as sound system is concerned it depends what kind of music you like. I have the high performance multimedia system and it is fine. I do not listen to hard rock music and don't need, or want, huge bass. The premium system has extra speakers and a sub unit. To be honest I think the only way to compare sensibly would be to listen to the same music on both systems; hardly practical.

Weather permitting I'll take a picture out of the bedroom window in the morning showing the sunroof and put it up.

Have just looked again and see you asked the questions back in August. Am assuming this has now been resolved. If not, let me know and I'll put the sunroof picture up as promised.
