Ticking carbon canister
The fast ticking sound coming from my right head light is probably caused by the carbon canister.
Does anyone recognize this and can it do any harm? |

The Carbon box under the right head light which absorbes fuel fumes from the tank.

Are you sure its under the right headlight? I thought the washer fluid container was under the right headlight. Just wondering?!

Looking at the car from the engine side the canister is located in the left (OS) wing or behind the front bumper to the front of the w/washer bottle. I believe the ticking is normal and can be cured by replacing the canister purge (CP) valve. Part# 8627005 ->1999. 9470775 2000-> This applies to the T4 model though...
And FYI, because of the location of this canister can cause the connecting rubber pipes to perish and fail thus causing the car to idle poorly...especially applies to the 480 Hope this helps...
