Default Gliptone Scuffmaster leather dye

I've seen ads for this product over the years in the classic car mags & I'm wondering if anyone has good experience of it? I'm contemplating buying a kit to (hopefully) rejuvinate the slightly cracked leather on the driver's seat of the C70. They quote that they can supply a matched dye to your car's VIN number

I doubt youll need much dye. If exact colour isnt crucial, try local independent cobblers shops

I've used it, but never had much success with it. They supplied a kit for my son's V50 - dark grey - it came with three bottles of dye, one grey, one white and one black. We had to alter the grey to match by either mixing a bit of white or black to suit. Never did get a perfect colour match.

I've used Leatherlab dye on both my V40 and C70 - Charcoal - in both cars and Leatherlab supplied one bottle of perfect match, easy to use and undetectable when wiped on with the small sponge provided. I have completely covered the sun bleaching on the passenger seat in the convertible and it now looks like new. A quick Google should find it.

Hi,
Yes I have used this product several times on my different Volvo cars and my peasant one and yes its very good , the only thing is having the Nuts to follow there instructions and yes its the old word it takes time and practice, But the results are very good highly recommend it.

Agree with Milne

On both my 850 T5 and V70R ( both black ) nothing short of superb - as it should be at the price !

I have used the scuff masters kits on a few of my vehicles now. BMWs and an Audi A4. Very pleased with the results.

I may have been unlucky, but not at all pleased with the colour match, but then I am a fussy devil and my wife says 'hard to please'.

I refurbished the seats in my Silver Cloud several years ago using the Connolly kit and the colour match was spot on and then when I tried the Leather Lab dye in the Volvo's that was also a perfect match. website: www.dynamixdyes.com

As always I can only speak from experience and my experience was not good.
