Volvo 960 Sensors
Afternoon chaps,
I've just purchased a complete 960 engine for my 240 engine swap. I'm just about to order the engine wiring loom for my Emerald ECU and I need to know whether the crank and cam phase sensors are inductive or digital. I spoke to Emerald and they said that generally 2 pin sensors are inductive and 3 pin are digital. The engine is from a 93 car btw. I don't have the engine to hand currently so does anyone know which type they are?? Cheers Liam Mc

Going for a "best guess" scenario here, they appear to be 2-wire animals so inductive according to Pg14 of this diagram :
http://www.myvolvolibrary.info/Tech_...Y94_Wiring.pdf However the very last page of component listings is missing including the listing for items 7/23 and 7/24 which i'm fairly sure are the crank and cam position sensors although which way round they are i'm not sure. Looking at the later diagram (you can find it from the parent directory from that link) one of them is the engine rpm sensor (or crank sensor) and the other is the cam sensor so it is along the right lines although the later Motronic seems to be wired slightly differently. Hopefully it answers your question!
