Steering noise
If I just turn my wheel when stationary from left to right I get the twangy noise like a spring flexing , checked the front springs they are fine . It does this with engine off and on seems to be from the interior but not sure any ideas ?everything else is fine it’s just annoying.
I’ve searched this on here and a few have had this problem but none have said if they got it sorted. |

i had a similar noise, was taking the car in for change of pads and, as pointed out by volvo forever, it was a broken coil, replaced under warranty

Which spring and can I as a normal driver see it to check? My XC60 is making a strange sort of creaking / jumping noise turning right on full lock at slow speed, and the dealers is a 40 minute drive away.

Sounds more like a CV joint or wheel bearings to me than a spring from your description - either way it is dealer job, and fairly major at that

However, I had a look in detail on full lock, and there are all sorts of small cracks. These are on the left front tyre; the right is not as bad but has a few similar issues. They are the original Pirelli Scorpion Verde. Is this common? Maybe that question deserves its own thread. |

Good to hear that there isn’t an issue, sure sounded like you had one from the description- just shows how hard it it do describe a fault sufficiently in a few lines to get an accurate diagnosis

I've got my fingers crossed. New tyres on Thursday and I'm hoping that sorts it out.
