Default Leather Seat Treatment

I'd like to treat my red leather seats with a renovating cream to cover mild cracking and some loss of colour. Any advice on what product works best for this?

Clean them first.
I've used Glyptone cleaner in the past, you wont need much of it, excellent stuff.
Colouring - no idea.
Conditioning - loads of waxy creams out there from whatever the local shop has to expensive Autoglym, McGuires, Glytone etc. All work, the £££ ones are probably better than the very cheapest.

I have used a Woolies kit. You send a snip of waste leather from underneath the seat to woolies. This should be an unfaded sample.
They will colour match your sample with dye and include an initial cleaner and final polish in the 3 part kit.

I have used these on Austin Westminster's, Vanden Plas Princess 3 litre, Ford Consul all with excellent results.
The cleaner removes any oils / dirt or stains. The dye then colours the tiny cracks in the leather and restores any faded colouring. Mine did look brand new and were more supple than before. It is well worth spending plenty of time with the cleaner.

If your seats are black then you will not have to send a sample. Mine were red, burgundy and beige/biscuit coloured.
Chris.

Hi I recenty renovated my P1800 seats using products from Furnitureclinic. Cleaning, repairing creases, cracks and tears recolourising and sealing. I was very impressed with their products. See my post and pictures.... https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...ighlight=seats

You can get some really good quality leather restorer products from horse-supplies places, and well priced.

I agree with Simon about the horsey lot

The best price : performance ratio stuff I've found in such places is Lexol stuff.

A combination of Lexol cleaner and conditioner makes the leather live again.
