Exclamation Bluetooth- mobile phone connection problems

Hi, Just bought a 2009 (2010 model) S80 D5 SE Lux with very, very low mileage. The car has had a Polestar power upgrade to 225bhp and 460 nm torque, it drives beautifully, however, I cannot connect my iPhone to the Bluetooth, if you press the phone button on the dash it says no phone fitted in the display, can anyone help please?

Which spec? Very possible that it doesn't have the Bluetooth installed. You need at least the High Performance audio setup to get it, and IIRC the base spec for the audio is standard, the one below what you need.

Hi, as I stated its the 2009 (2010 model year) S80 D5 SE Lux, not sure which audio system is installed, how do I check which system is fitted?

unfortunately that spec doesn't cover everything, you may need to check with a dealer to see what the build spec was since the upgraded Infotainment is an additional option.

I also recall that there was something tied to whether the satnav was fitted which I think also gave the High Performance audio, I don’t think the initials you quote came with that either, I think it is the SE Lux Premium that has the high performance audio, but that didn’t have SatNav either unless it was specified - might be worth checking some websites to find what the spec is for that model then you will know what it started with, though you will still need to get the dealer to say what was added above that spec

As I suggest, check Parkers or better the dealer to see what you have fitted.

I'll check with the dealer mate, thanks. The car does have satnav built in and high performance audio. Someone told me today, I need to get Volvo to turn on Bluetooth in the car!!!!!!!!!!

cheers

Other things to check:

Is there a black plastic 'bump' inside the glovebox? This is the SIM card card holder which confirms the car has a built in phone

Is there a phone handset inside the armrest? That also indicates built in phone.

Sounds like the spec is higher than you originally posted and it is an SE Lux Premium Nav

I cannot imagine someone driving through for that length of time (previous owner) without Bluetooth if all it needs is switching on?

Hello Mate,

The previous owner was a very elderly gentleman (late 70s in age). I think the dealer had him over slightly, they sold him a top spec S80 and the Polestar Power upgrade, which i'm sure he wouldn't have needed, he only did 1000 miles per year with the exception of one year where he did 2500 as referenced in the Volvo service book...... he probably never owned a mobile phone......

Hi Simon,

No none of those things are present ( my 55 plate S80 D5 SE Lux had them) but the dash does have the 'phone' button on it and not 'my key'
