Fixing missing photobucket images
So I saw this a while back on Turbo Bricks but if anyone is none the wiser keep reading.
I'm sure this fix is also available for other browsers (chrome is linked to on the add-on page) but if you're using firefox then click THIS LINK. It will take you to an add-on page where you can install a script for firefox that will restore any images that were previously posted on forums and elsewhere before photobucket changed their service. |

No worries. It just occurred to me people on here don't necessarily visit other Volvo related forums and after seeing in another thread about upping boost on a LPT but not being able to see the pictures that people here would probably benefit from the add-on.

Either way i hope Photobucket fall through their own central orifice into an infinitely deep cess pit for what they have done to forums the world over by holding the information contained in those images to ransom.

There are other alternative add-ons that do the same thing. Did you try any others? It's nice not having the majority of the build threads be in braille for the visually able:P |

At the time, the only (known) work-around was the one Firefox emailed me.
As that hadn't worked for me or several others i forwarded it to, i went to : http://postimages.org/ Meanwhile i bought a 32GB USB drive and started downloading my photos from Photobuck'ay (like Hyacinth Buck'ay in her "diva" moments) many of which i had to do singly because they disabled their bulkdownloader fearing a mass exodus of their previously loyal victims. Many of the threads i have posted photos on are now locked so can't be edited to update the image links and also trying to find individual photos among 3-4000 images is a nightmare! Meanwhile postimages seems to be doing everything i need it to, it's fast, free and easy to use (much less complex than PB) and my more recent threads are in glorious technicolour rather than grey and white Braille.

I have been using it for a fair while now (since I posted it up on teh forum some time ago)
I dont normally use Firefox as it had become very buggy but if I want to see a forum thread with blocked images I just open firefox to view them. There is also a patch for Chrome Photobucket had become pretty bad for a few years before teh big scam. The worth thing is thing about how many did pay the ransom |
