I have had 3 300 series good little motors my first was
a 340 1.4 then a 360 2.00 ltr then a 340 1.7 gl then I went on to the big stuff The 1.4 was my first Volvo had it two years then my dad had it for another 4 years not bad for a car that cost 300 quid.

Really glad the weather held up as the rain in previouse years was a real pain.
Fantastic pictures and nice to see such a great turnout.
This is not a moan but a suggestion, could the club not get someone to take hundreds of pictures and archive them somewhere?
I could spend ALL my time looking through them as opposed to lurking about here.
My pictures were always what i thought was interesting therefore not to everyones taste, especially the ones of my foot and my own reflection lol.
Keep up the piccies as i missed out on a big turnout by the looks of things
Brian.

Also thanks to the chap with the LHD gold 1977 345(?) who chatted knowledgeably with me about the 340's.
One thing I forgot to ask, does the 1.4 engine have a cambelt or cam chain?
Cheers, Giles

Yes that was me! No problem, I can talk about 340s for a long time! My username 345DL relates to one of my other cars, the gold one you saw was a 343 (as in 3 doors). Volvo dropped this nomenclature from 1983 model year and all 1.4s became badged 340.

But anyway, as wrinkles has already said, it's a chain so much less to go wrong. Anything else you want to know, give me a shout.

Now I'm on the hunt for picters and maybe even some movies taken on this event, specially if we or on it ofcourse. If you dont like to put them on this forum then maybe you could be so kind by leting me know and send theme to my @mail adres. in either way my thanks in advance.

Once again thanks for the wonderfull time we had in England.
