After reading this thread (twice!) I think if my xc90 behaves itself I’ll be going down the denison route- I’m yet to find a decent install video though!
Anyone that’s gone this way regret it, or is it the best way?
Thanks!

Default Installing an aftermarket stereo in an XC90 (2004)

Hi All,

I hope this is in the right place to post this,

I have read through lots of posts (including this one) and thought I would share my experience of installing an aftermarket stereo in an X90 (2004) and to hopefully help others.
I have NEARLY successfully installed an aftermarket car stereo,

HOWEVER i'm still struggling to retain the factory Reverse Sensors.

I'm sure most of you know already you have to take off the old stereo off by removing the old front facia and putting in a new facia Single or Double Din then cut it and (blablabla) Plenty of tutorials on how to do it.

I'm not good at tutorials but the purpose is to share my experience with you and see how others have done.
I purchased this lead CTSVL004.2,
Attachment 116679
https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/conn...rch=CTSVL004.2
It bypasses the amp by plugging in the Green and Grey wire in to it and then you fed the wire up to plug in to the stereo.
Attachment 116681
It then retains the vehicle display unit so you can keep the reverse sensors.

My issue is the reverse sensors are not working, I am sending the reverse sensor box back for replacement and will keep you updated.
Attachment 116684
I'm also not sure if the buttons for the stereo need to stay connected but I have tried it with both connected and disconnected.
Attachment 116683

Here is the manual on how to do the install from the official website.
Attachment 116680

If anyone has had any success (or failures) please let us know and I will keep you updated how my replacement goes, otherwise it looks like i'll be trying another way.
