Hi,
With the good weather i just noticed my air conditioning is not working, also i don't think the engine fan is working either. The clutch is not engaging on the compressor, the gap is ok, it's not getting power. is there a relay or something else thats interrupting the power when the air conditioning is turned on.
Thanks in advance. Ian

Most obvious culprits are a faulty pressure sensor or low gas or a faulty relay.

Yes Vida will show actual gas pressure and describe minimum gas pressure, evaporator temperature, remotely activate the AC relay..... Lots basically.

9 time out of 10 the cause of this is low (or no) gas pressure in the system. In these cases the compressor is disabled to prevent damage as the lubricating oil is in the gas.

Thanks you your replies, I will have some time tomorrow to explore. The laptop i bought for VIDA is tediously slow so it sometimes puts me of using it.
Thanks, Ian

Pretty sure that gas pressure is in ECM under the Parameters tab.
Click details/description for the guide as to what it should be.

95% chance that this will be caused by low refrigerant gas pressure.
As it's impossible to work on without the correct gear and knowledge, i'd suggest taking it to an AC specialist to sort it.

They will:

- Pump out whatever refrigerant is left
- Pull a vacuum and check for leaks
- Assuming no leaks, pump in the correct quantity of refrigerant
- Test the system

Last time I had this done it cost about £50 and took about 1/2 hour.

Yes I am going to to do that, but i'd like to know what the problem is first.
Thanks, Ian
