(VIDA) really is invaluable if you are working on your own Volvo.
I would say essential

As good as the Delphi kit is - and I've recently used it to good effect - it's not VIDA which is why VIDA is on my list of essential purchases now I'm a Volvo owner.

Here’s my point -
Delphi =free
VIDA = parting with cash!!

Which is a problem for me at the moment!!
Don’t get me wrong, I expect to spend a bit on this to get it to my standard & I have considered taking it to Camberley Volvo center (a local Indy) but I imagine that they charge a fair whack compared to my mates garage with the Delphi!

One mis-diagnosis will cost you more than the cost of buying VIDA (if you DIY) or using a VIDA-equipped indy.

Plus VIDA is so much more than a code scanner.

Ok, I’m convinced!
How much & where do I buy it? I did search but it looks like a minefield of cheap copies out there?
Any recommendations welcome!

Now I’m confused!

So what is matey selling & how much are they?

theres a Lot more involved for a Genuine vida setup with the ability to
reprogram keys
add new features to the car
update software

the ones most of us use are clone copys of, that do the diagnostics repair manual and how to and parts catalogue Without the ability to program new keys or software , 99.9% of the time thats all we really need

so cheshired5 sells those, With support and help on how to get vida installed And a known good tested working Dice clone unit

imho well worth it, 1 diagnostic read and fix pays for the unit,

spent a good few hours on the XC today, got it on the ramp & topped up the front & rear diffs front was very low indeed!
plugged it into the Delphi laptop & went through some codes;
transmission service required - oil level was very low, topped up with nearly a litre @ 60 deg c
srs warning light on- resistance in the pre tensioner faulty.
& a dreaded anti skid service light too, cleared but came back on.
repaired the faulty indicator stalk-stripped down & cleaned pub with an eraser.

car drives much much better now but things noted are;

tyres are all mis matched rubbish- need changing asap!
brakes & disks are due for a change very soon
due an engine oil change
due a transmission oil flush/change

overall a very good day, my daughter cleaned away for a few hours & wiped all over the sticky sweet wrapper infested rear seats & in all the nooks & crannies- yuk!

The Delphi said it was a code 0109 I believe.
Delphi is fine. There are not all that many ocassions where you need VIDA.
