I’m going to look at a 14 plate xc70 d5 with about 100k on the clock. The last xc70 I had was a one from the early 00’s. What should I be looking out for?

Service history records would be a start. With the current mileage, its probably due some suspension bushes & that's something to factor in to your budget or as a bargaining tool to lower the price - Listen for knocks when driving over bumps etc.

The timing belt, aux belt & aux belt tensioner are due to be replaced in around another 8,000 miles, so that's another thing to consider depending on the mileage you're doing. Use genuine Volvo parts if possible, or high quality ones like Lemforder.
