I'd say competency also.

Likewise with Shrewsbury Volvo - I am 101% satisfied with everything this dealer does from initial supply of car to its 1st Service last week.
You are kept informed along the way, alternative transport arrangements made for you, full report of work done with an under the car video with commentary sent to you.
It is nice to treated as a "person" - not just a punter as a source of profit.
Reading some of the horror stories on this thread make me disappointed that a great product is let down by just a few 'cannot be bothered complacent' setups within the dealer network. But as a positive I am sure the customer feedback questionnaires carried out by the independent survey company will soon flush them out.........

For anyone in the Leicestershire / Warwickshire area, I highly recommend TMS Volvo. I've continued to use them even though I'm now based in Derbyshire and it's a significant round trip for me.

So people have recommended

TMS Volvo
Shrewsbury Volvo
Clive Brook
Riverside Doncaster
Bells
Ray Chapman
Donalds Ipswich
Volvo Edinburgh

If my research is correct these are all single dealers or part of a small chain.

The only dealer mentioned in a negative way was Stoneacre (I have had awful experiences with Stoneacre too). Stoneacre are a big chain.

So looking like the independants and small chains are well and truly ahead so far....

Over the air map updates do not work via VOC, you need your own data connection or do it via USB stick. Those with new cars which have the 100gb sim included will work of course, until the data runs out.

Just had my Survey from Volvo following the last service & sung their praises on that as well.
I have had two services so far and have not had a Survey from Volvo to complete. Are they being selective?

I use Stoneacre Lincoln for my XC90 and they were fine. This was my first service and the car was supplied by them. This is the 3rd Volvo from them and touch wood I have had no problems. I also got the video from under the car when it wasserviced and a loan car which was an R design V90.

Stockport Volvo have been consistently good and all the better for having their new showroom and workshop.
