XC90 Towbar hitch wiring harness

Hello all,

I am trying to find out if there is a Volvo towbar hitch wiring harness for the XC90 (MY17) to be used with a regular (non retractable) towbar hitch, that comes fitted with an European standard 7 (round) pin Type 12N (ISO 1724) trailer connector.

If so, does anyone knows its Volvo part number?

I bought the US version, which is Volvo part number 31373661, but it comes with the 7 (flat) /4 (round) pin US standard conector (SAE J2863).

This does not fit the European standard 7 (round) pin Type 12N (ISO 1724) trailer connector present in my Thule VeloCompact 3 7-pin towbar bike rack (Thule part number 927002).

Any comments / suggestions on the topic?

You can get 13 pin electrics (now standard European fitting) and there are adapters to use with 7 pin plug trailers. Adapters are cheap.

Would anyone know what would be the Volvo part number for the 13 pin wiring harness?

There are several dedicated wiring kits online.

I am sure most towbar fitting companies will fit or supply them too.
To integrate fully with all systems they require dealer software but if only using a small trailer or bike rack and only need lights and indicators that is not required.

you will need a dealer to do this job its fairly involved... software switch etc ..

all instruction there under the various parts ...
