Default 745 Turbo Whats it Worth?! Aarrgg pics won't upload?

Images won't upload. I've created an album on photo bucket, log in to browse twenty images: Username: jonathanl2 - Password : 745turbo

I was going to spend the evening typing a long story/description outlining history, provenance, servicing works carried out, any imperfections etc etc. However, I've decided that any interested parties are very welcome to phone/text/PM me and we can chat further.

Meantime here's a summary:
1 previous owner before me, FSH including major service works in my ownership(cambelt, clutch, Bosch fuel pump, rear HD springs and all fluids incl rear dif and gearbox, excellent interior, roof lining nice! ..... I could go on and on but call me instead.

7seater, towbar fitted a few weeks ago to collect a trailer tent from London recently prior to that never had a towbar. Easily unbolted again. Full length roof rack if required, genuine original Volvo item in excellent condition resprayed black.

I underseal painted it again recently and I assure you he is solid, no rot, holes, rust anywhere, amazing really for one so old.

Original driver lights that the supplying dealer installed at the first service!

Have a browse at the images taken at home today so what's it worth... I've no idea. It may have to be auctioned to allow the market mechanism to do its job. Genuine reluctant sale, thought I'd own it forever, part of the family and fastidiously maintained and detailed and garaged all its life.

8 months MOT no advisories.

Deserves a good home and new owner!

Default Sincere apologies..... For being a time wasting fool!

Gentlemen I am genuinely sorry to have mucked you about but I've had a change of heart before I'd even arrived at an asking price.

I toured the main dealers over the last couple of days with the objective being to select a new vehicle to take under the NHS (im a London based Paramedic) salary sacrifice lease scheme. However, myself and my wife were left feeling very flat and unexcited at the rows and rows of new computers on wheels and cars on stilts SUV's. Together with the fact that to obtain a large car suitable of towing my newly aquired folding camper meant still forking out a good few hundred quid a month albeit that includes servicing, insurance, tax, MOT etc and is deducted from ones gross not net pay but even so.

Also I admit that I was/am reluctant to put this car to work towing my 900kg folding camper when it's never towed before. I became a bit worried that spare parts availability is and will continue to dry up for my model and what with me putting it to work a bit through the summer months id be better going new or modern. Perhaps worrying unnecessarily but I'm just being honest.

In conclusion we decided to say no to the new car scheme and keep 'Big Vic' as my young sons call my 745T. I would have missed the petrol headed hobby of polishing and maintaining him too! So I hope the images have been a pleasure to browse for those that have, and I apologise for being a time waster.

Regards.

Jon

What a great looking car! I'm relieved that you're keeping it - it would have been a shame to have a future owner rag and neglect it - thats a true classic, well worth keeping

Default I Agree!

I agree. The original mature owner simply drove it albeit carefully, annual main dealer service and MOT and kept it garaged.. In other words just a regular owner of the period but not an enthusiast as such. He did tell me that it never once let him down in his 23years ownership, nor me in my 4years! I however, have invested very much time, online research and learning as well as in a practical sense, and a fair few hundred quid in this car during my four years of ownership. I feel that I almost know him inside out. That's too much of a bond to throw away so freely. Foolish, pull myself together. I may try and accumulate a few more spares for the future, those rarer items that will dry up for the B230ET.

Regards

Jon
