Default Can you help me to find the correct glow plugs for my 940?

My Volvo is currently in the garage, and I need to source new glow plugs for it.

Vehicle: 1995 (M Reg) Volvo 940 II (945) Diesel Estate 2.4 TD Interc.
Engine: 2383cc 90KW 122HP D 24 TIC.

The mechanic has told me to get 5x "long ones", and 1x "short one", as the diesel pump is placed in such a way that one of the plugs needs to be shorter than the others, or it won't fit in.

There's multiple lengths of glow plug available, so does anyone know which lengths I should get?

https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/volvo/...0252/glow-plug

There's a lot to choose from.

Thanks for any help anyone can give. I need to get the car back on the road as soon as I can.

That’s the first I’ve heard about one of the plugs being shorter than the others-I got mine done when I was having the cambelt and injector pump belt changed. I gather it’s a considerable PITA getting the plug for cylinder #6 out/in without dropping the injector pump.

Right now, all I need is a number. The overall length of the plugs, in mm.

I can buy them in 73, 69, 63, 61, 60, 59, and 58.

I just need to know which of those numbers is correct. I'll get five, and then he can deal with the extra, if it's needed.

Here's some, filtered just to Ridex: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/...%5B0%5D=100015

hi 99% certain the bosch plugs part number is 0250201032 1 to 4 are quite easy 5 and 6 make some time .i sit in the engine bay under a old carpet have some of the small terminal spare at hand you will loose the odd, ones , i apply a small amount of copper grease to the threads that go into the engine ,makes life easier
next time ,a telescopic magnet and cap lamp and long reach pliers are handy too take your time , im a old carpenter not as agile now but did them last year,
keep us informed of your progress

Last week, I was driving through Stoke on Trent, on my way through Derby. On the A500, I ran over a pot hole, and that's what caused this problem with the glow plugs. It jolted everything out of alignment, and fried the relay. I spent the weekend in Derby, and the next time I started the engine, it wouldn't start. Had to get the breakdown recovery out.

The poor guy looked very confused when I opened the bonnet, and there was nowhere to plug his diagnostics kit into. He said, "Wow, that's not what I was expecting", and had to remember his actual mechanics training, to work out what was wrong. It eventually started, and I was able to drive back, through Stoke on Trent, back home.
