Default Towbar Fitting and Electrics

Reluctant to pay Volvo prices for towbar when Towequippe selling swan necks for £100 (approx). Has anyone looked under the carpet on the right hand side of their 99 V70 to see an unused plug or if you have the towbar fitted is this occupied by the lighting set ?

Really keen to understand.

I fitted a second hand volvo bar & electrics to V70 also a Towequippe one to my Mitsi.
Easy to fit both.
To answer your question, yes there is a plug for volvo bar but you wont use it with the Towequippe bar.
Dont worry Towequippe will give all info and parts required.
Only difference you will notice on 12N is a buzzer instead of light on dash for volvo bar.
The Towequippe bar is very good quality. Mine is a swan neck on both cars. If I was to do them again I would go for standard 2 bolts on ball job.
Swan necks look nicer but standard are easier and cheaper to get things like bike racks, stabalizers for. Also easier to put a drop plate to to alter height if needed.

On mine, it was to the right of the spare wheel viewed from the back.
Off Side.
Stuck on like a bit of mastic tucked up by a box section.
Plug is easy missed but you should see the wire ok.
The bulb failure conector / adaper is on the left.

Default missing trailer lighting connection

Once again I have removed all sections of the boot floor, searched and failed to find a grey box shaped plug/ socket Is the bulb failure connector a triangular tray which contains a circuit and two small plugs and to which runs some thing like 8-10 wires. Thanks for your help. Peter

I thought the recall was only on detachable towbars?
