I did notice the last post was eight years back. Is this a forum record? Do I get a sweetie?
Strongly recommend you watch the gaiters. These things are £350-400 a side. Jeez.

I have nivomats on my 1999 V70...they are great, when loading the boot, then throwing a caravan on the back the old stuff was making the steering very light, lights in the sky, "V" shaping the car/van and dare I say it dangerous.
Since the Nivomats were fitted it changed everything, with a properly balanced van, full car, made the driving a shed more better. For me, the V70 is not a great towing car, I had a heavy van at 1500kg,(book said it could tow 1600) and it struggled up hill. The 85% rule for this vehicle, is too high, as front wheel drive, with full boot wife and 2 kids was at it's limit. i am amazed my clutch is still the original (now done 201000 miles) I really rate the nivomats as for general driving with a load in the car makes every thing level, a must for any "towing" vehicle, or some one who carries heavy loads in the boot. |

With auto box, I run a plant trailer but it comes in @ 1100kg max and all is fine. Have a trans cooler too. No Santa Pod contender and up hill it does work, but comfortably adequate. Another 400-500kg and I can see it being possible but no joy.
